CLARENDON COUNTY ELECTION BOARD ISSUES

SC LAW SECTION 7-5-10

The Law states: "At least one appointee on the board shall be a member of the majority political party represented in the General Assembly and at least one appointee shall be a member of the largest minority political party represented in the General Assembly."

Currently the board is made up of only Democrats. Not a single Republican has been on the board in over 2.5 years.

***UPDATE After fighting for this for several weeks at the Clarendon County Voter Registration Board Meetings, we were told by Senator Johnson, that he will adding a Republican to the board. We will update this when they are officially sworn in. They are still short on how many board members they are to have.
